About Ponderiffic Adventures

Ponderiffic Design and Landscape Construction has been operating in business in Southern CA for over 10 yrs. Ponderiffic offers landscape construction services in pond building, waterfall construction, koi ponds, fountain installation, rainwater collection and capture systems, lake, streams and wetland construction as well as maintenance. While these services make up the majority of projects Ponderiffic undertakes, they also specialize in horticultural plantings, lighting, irrigation and drainage. Maintaining a C27 landscape contracting license along with Certified Crop Advisor and Pest Control Advisor licensing has enabled Ed Brown, CEO of Ponderiffic, to position the business firmly in the marketplace. Ed and his business have received numerous awards in the industry. Beginning in 2004 when they became a member of Aquascape Inc’s "Top Frog" club for top sales records. In a short 3 yr time span Ponderiffic not only became a Certified and Master Aquascape Contractor but moved into the top 50 selling contractors nationwide and one of the top 10 selling Aquascape Contractors in Southern CA in 2006. That same year the business joined Aquascape’s Water Garden Excellence Program as a Master Aquascape Contractor and was hand-picked by Aquascape to work alongside of a dozen top contractors in the world to build an exotic water feature at Disney’s Epcot Center in Orlando Florida in 2007.

His business Ponderiffic Adventures, won 1st place in the Sun Lakes Landscape Design Contest in 2007 and his work was a feature spot for the “Eye On The Desert” TV crew in the Palm Springs area in Dec of 2006. In February of 2010 Ponderiffic and Tri State Materials teamed up to build an exotic indoor landscape display at CA’s Landscape Industry Show. The display featured a large Basalt Rock fountain in the center with water flowing over each of 7 tall basalt rocks. . Ed’s work has been the focal point of numerous prestigious landscapes throughout CA and the US. He has built in CA, CO, IL, OK, TX, IA and Florida. He has spoken at garden clubs throughout Southern CA, given technical seminars at landscape conventions and shows and has authored articles on outdoor living in magazines. He has contracted, consulted or designed projects for an impressive list of clients including:

  • Desert Villas Marriott In Palm Desert
  • Disneys Epcot Center in Orlando Florida
  • Descanso Gardens in La Canada
  • South Coast Winery and Spa in Temecula
  • Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula
  • Red Hawk Parkway HOA in Temecula
  • Stater Brothers Grocers

His work has been the feature of numerous articles in newspapers such as the Press Enterprise, Desert Sun and Record Gazette. Ed and his business have been a big supporter with several annual donations of water features for charity to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Riverside County and he has donated water features to the “Ponds For Kids” program started by Aquascape Designs Inc. Recently desiring to add a new horticultural dimension to the business Ed passed the CA and Int’l board exams for licensing as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) by the American Society of Agronomy. Utilizing the new credential along with having a MS degree in Plant Science will only continue to add value to the customer base. Ed is a member of the following organizations.

  • CA Associations of Pest Control Advisors
  • American Society of Agronomy
  • Soil Science Society of America
  • Crop Science Society of America
  • CA landscape Contractors Association
  • Boy Scouts Of America

When he is not designing or building a sustainable landscape or horticulture project Ed is a devoted father of two. He stays active as a Den Leader for Pack 322 for the Boy Scouts of America and an Assistant Coach for Beaumont Youth Baseball. His current focus is on creating a new business entity that focuses on sustainable landscape and backyard farming /gardening and “back to basics” living with an emphasis on reducing our carbon footprint on the globe. The business name, Southland Ag and Horticulture, has been registered and a new website is coming soon for these activities. The goal is to allow both businesses to complement each other. To borrow one from the scouts, Ed is a believer and trained expert in “Leave No Trace” wherever you go; something a little hard for Ed to do because he not only touches the ground he walks upon but touches hearts along his pathway too.
